Herenui 62 Sunreef

This is our new neighbor "Herenui" (great happiness).  She is a 62 Sunreef like ours but newer.  Jean-Louis and his wife, Michelle will be crossing the Atlantic about the same time as us.  We hope to see them again in the Caribbean.  It has been wonderful getting to know Jean-Louis and he has been a great source of information and help.  We are truely thankful.

First furry friend on board.

Our first furry friend on board the boat.  Gollum has lived his entire life on a boat.  He is a natural.

Unusual Rainbow

This is the second rainbow of the day, but this one has a light shining from the center.  I only saw the light in the photo not with the naked eye.  Would like to hear your comments as to what you think it is.  This was right before a strong storm that only lasted about 20 minutes.

Rainbow

Awoke this morning to a beautiful rainbow.  We have had terrific storms here and several people have been swept away in flood waters and perished.  There is still a little rain in the forecast today but I believe it will be a good day.  It's also one day closer to Mark coming back.  He will be here Thursday and I am getting really excited to have him back on board.

Time for a picture tour of the boat.

This is our master cabin.  Nice and comfortable with a TV and DVD player.  Lots of storage and hanging lockers too.

This is what I like to call the snoring room, because when Mark starts snoring this is where I run to.  A little smaller than the master cabin but still very nice and comfortable.  Also with a TV and DVD player.

This is where I cook our meals and also enjoy the view.  I will be glad when Mark gets back on the boat and set up our grill so I can cook outside.

This is the Navagation station on the left and our dining table on the right.  Since we have been in Menorca we haven't had TV, but should we ever get it, we could watch it right here.  To be quite honest, I really haven't missed TV that much.  Now that Football Season is upon us that may change.

This is the sofa in the salon where we could watch football if we had it.  It is a nice place to relax anyway.

"Volem Vi" (We want wine)

When you yell "Volem Vi"  (we want wine)  This is what I call service!  Unfortunately it only happens during fiesta.  That was fun.

Festes de GRACIA 2009

This is in the center of the capital.  The traditional Jaleo (horses) travel through the crowded streets and when the horse rears up you run into the street and try to touch the horses heart.  If you touch the heart it brings you luck.  If you think the running of the bulls is dangerous try this one.  When the people behind you start pushing to run into the street you have no choice but to go forward.  This year there were over 100 horses.  It was incredible to see this as it has been a tradition longer than our country has been in existence.

Sorry for the delay in updates "FOOD POISONING"

I've spent the last two days kissing the toilet.  Never a good thing.  I think the worst is finally past.  The refrigeration of meat is not like in the states.  You have a large counter with all the meats together and you pick which one you would like cut up.  They have whole chickens with the heads still on and they cut it how you like it right there.  I try to cook it well but obviously I didn't.  It may be while before I eat chicken again.  Glad that's over.

Restaurante Pasarela on Mahon Harbor

Now that I have become somewhat of a regular, they have started to joke and play with me.  When I asked for a table for UNO, he placed a single chair in the middle of the street in front of the restaurante.  I like it now that I'm not just a tourist.

We were given a two seater to drive while in Menorca.

We are having work done on the boat at Pedro's Boat Centre.
Since we were here in High season there were no rental cars available.
So Pedro asked if we would like to drive a two seater while here in Menorca.
Here it is a two seater Skoda.  They were worried it wasn't good enough.  We love it.

Full moon over the harbor

It is wonderful looking at the lights and the full moon on the harbor.
What is really amazing is the sunrise is at 6:30 and sunset at 9pm.

It's raining for the first time in several months in Menorca, Spain.

Well, I have been talking about getting my blog up and running since we got to Spain the begining of August.  The weather here has been too perfect to sit inside and finish setting it up.  Today it is the first real rain since I have been here.  So forgive me for taking my time, but here it is.

Mark has gone back to the States to take care of some business and I chose to stay and keep the list of repairs moving forward on the boat.  That's another reason I have had extra time to work on the blog.  I met a very nice couple Chris and Joy Hopkins from England.  They are on a boat named Titania Joyrider V.  Even though I don't speak the Queens english, they have adopted me as one of their own.  I am thankful for their help and hospitality.  Mostly because they introduced me to Skype.  Now I can talk to friends and family and not get in trouble for talking too much at international phone rates.
This is Titania Joyrider V.  I can see her right across the bay of Mahon.
