FISH It's whats for dinner!

Don't know how much it weighed but compared to the ones we caught on the crossing...This is a biggone!
All you have to do is catch it and guys come out of the woodwork to clean it for you.  LIFE IS GOOD!
Our views as we explored Mount du Cap, St. Lucia.

The views are spectacular from up here.  WOW!

I have dinner to cook so I must run along and play later,  Ta Ta for now Theresa

Private beach anyone?

We went out today exploring in the dingy.  Found a great private beach that is picture perfect and very natural.  So beautiful.
I just love this little house on the bay.  Simple but fantastic setting.
I am still laughing at Mark ordering a collosal hot dog at the pool.  I have never seen a messier dog for lunch.

For our fellow Picwickians, Bob and Melonie Taylor..we are sharing the harbor with a Nordhaven named Medallion.
Sunset this evening was perfect.  It just doesn't get much better than this.  Tomorrow is Independance Day on the island.  Everything will be closed Sunday and Monday for the celebrations.
May tomorrow be better than today.  Theresa

St. Maarten here we come.

This goes out to my mom.  We are in St. Lucia and we are going to start moving up the island chain to St. Maarten.  I am planning our routes tonight and will post so you can follow along.  Our first stop will be Martinique.

These kids were having the best time together.  Laughing and enjoying life.  They were kind enough to let me take their photo.  Life is good.
This is Gabby.  He is helping us with fixing the lines that were damaged during the Atlantic crossing.  He is always happy and his positive attitude is contagious.
There is a reason I stayed on the boat today.  Mark went MAN SHOPPING.  Hardware store, boating store and even made a stop at the grocery store.  He looks exhausted.  Whew, I am glad I didn't go.
Expert installation of our new grill.  One of the reasons Mark had to go to the hardware store is the bracket did not fit our railing.  We grilled a wonderful dinner on that grill and many more to come.  I promise.
This is how we do dinner on the boat.  Aft deck with candles and it doesn't get much better than this.  Beautiful breeze about 72 degrees.
We are both tired today.  Worked out in the fitness center at 9am, return to the boat and worked for another couple hours, spent a few hours pool side, return to the boat for a bit of lunch, Mark worked on the computer and work stuff til nap time, enjoyed another beautiful sunset in Marigot Bay, had salmon stuffed with spinach, potatoes, corn on the cob for dinner and now it is time to relax once again.  Life is good!  Ta Ta for now, Theresa

Volcano Montserrat erupts.

BRADES, Montserrat (GIU) -- Scientists at the Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO) confirmed there was a large pyroclastic flow forming event occurred at Soufriere Hills volcano on Friday afternoon around 2:49pm.

Volcano on Montserrat erupts on Friday Feb 12, 2010.

The island came to a temporary standstill as everyone took in the sight of the massive ash cloud that exploded but amazingly did not send much ash and no ballistic material into inhabited areas. Several residents remarked that they had not seen an ash cloud that broad since the early days of the volcano’s reawakening in the mid 1990s.

Apparantly air travel was interrupted Friday and Saturday due to the ash and lack of visibility.  We will be heading up the chain on Tuesday or Wednesday and we will update you on what we find and see.

Round the world sailors Gerry and Isolda Mcauley

These guys are our round the world hero's.  They have logged over 40,000 nautical miles on their trusty Beneteau Northern Sky.   They set sail again today heading up the caribbean chain.  I am sure we will cross paths again my friend.  Fair winds!

Meeting of the minds in the Man Cave (engine room).

Life's simple pleasures.  Today we will install a grill on the boat.  YEAH!!!  We will be grillin' cheeseburgers in paradise tonight.

Busy day in Paradise!

What a way to start the day!
That opening is where we were.  The Marina manager had to play musical boats to accomodate all the Mega Yachts that were coming in the afternoon.  Mark performed his duties as Captain with perfection.

Nice little 125 footer.  Parking nex to a sail boat on the other side of us.
Now this is where it gets interesting.  This big yacht is going to squeeze between us and another sailboat.  Is she gonna fit and how will her captain do?
Talk about needing some crisco!
We think parking downtown is a royal pain in the ass.  All in all it was a very productive day.  Changed oil in both engines, changed filters, moved parking places, organized all the provisions from the crossing and got rid of excess stuff.  WHEW I need a nap.
Ta Ta for now off to dinner, Theresa

I wonder if they will watch the Super Bowl???

We have a neighboring yacht that really makes our boat look small.  She is a 163' yacht named JO.  This yacht charters for 210,000 dollars a week.  I wonder if they are gonna watch the Super Bowl?

I hope they leave first, I don't want to scratch that one.

Life is good, once again.

We made it back to St. Lucia flying first class.  Thanks to our wonderful travel agent, Jill Clayton and for less than the economy ticket!  WOOOOOOHOOOOOO!   I think we may be spoiled now.

These colors are part of why I love the caribbean islands so much.

I'm not sure which island this is but the view was worth sharing.

When we arrived at the boat, our problem solving skills had to kick into overdrive.  After unlocking the door, our noses let us know there was a problem.  Somehow the boat had power but the inverter and the battery charger were kicked off.  What does that mean to all you non boaters.  The fridge wasn't working and everything inside was giving us welcome back aroma therapy.  We solved the problem and I cleaned out the YUCK!  I must remind myself...even the most beautiful rose has thorns.
You will find me perched pool side tomorrow.
