My Theresa, what beautiful teak you have!!!

The table top is my finished work.  The teak below is the before.
The stairs are finished and the aft deck teak is not.  It has been a lot of work but the end result is perfect.  Lucky Jack now has all the other boats wanting beautiful teak.
It is easy to see how tired and old our teak looked.  Now it is all beautiful.  I am very happy for the Captain in St. Lucia who introduced me to Teak Wonder.  It is Teak Wonderful.  No, this is not a paid advertisement, but it should be.  It is not an oil, it is a process that you clean, brighten and then seal.  It protects from oil spills, drink spills, repeals dirt, stains and grime and looks terrific.

My finished result.  In all it took me three and a half days, from start to finish, but well worth it.  I had to deep clean, brighten and then seal.  The first time you do it, requires two coats of sealer.  Once a year you add another coat but it is much easier the next time around.  It was my labor of love and I am more than satisfied with the results.
That's all for now and don't get teak envy just get Teak Wonder.  See you on the big blue watery road,  Theresa

The Friendly Island, St. Maarten

Our morning view as we awake in Simpson Bay Lagoon.
Our Lucky Jack at anchor in the lagoon.
This is my favorite picture, although lots of money gets spent this way, when the boys are comparing boats.  Oh, what is that?  I gotta have one of those.  We were aboard Herenui and looking at all his new gadgets.  We are going sailing on Jean Louis's boat tomorrow to see just how he operates.  Then we will go sailing on Lucky Jack.
Good night, we go sailing tomorrow.

Leaving Antigua to St. Maarten, March 11, 2010

I am laughing out of control as we leave Falmouth, Antigua.  Mark has an erruption of southern redneck drawl as he is talking about how beautiful FoulMouth is and hopes he can return soon.  I just hope they let us come back.
Our official St. Maarten welcoming committee, Jean Louis from Herenui.  He came out to greet us while we wait for the drawl bridge into Simpson Bay Lagoon.  This is gonna be a little scary.  The bridge opening looks too small for us to pass.  They tell us it will be fine...lets see.
It's gonna be close...
We made it thru with no problem and the crowd at happy hour went wild...

This is the view from our lovely new anchorage in front of Aqua Marina.  Not quite the same as the Aqua Marina we know and love at Pickwick.

Ta Ta for now and more to come later, Theresa

Leaving Guadeloupe for Antigua March 10, 2010

This boater is not having a good day.  It is important to read the charts and not take a short cut.  This poor soul crashed on the rocky shoal just as we were leaving Guadeloupe channel for Antigua.

We had perfect winds for the lovely goose wing sail set up.  Very relaxing overnight sail to Antiqua.  We left Guadeloupe at 2pm and arrived in Antigua around 8am the next morning.  Antigua is a very beautiful place.  We will go back when we can spend some time there.  This time was just a rest stop.
Antigua was very beautiful rest stop for us and now we are off to St. Barth's and then to St. Maarten to meet up with our friend Jean Louis on Herenui.

Back in the land of WiFi

Sorry for the delay in updates but we have had a very difficult time with WiFi.  I will get all the updates current now that I have it for the next few days.  We are currently in St. Maarten with our very dear friends Jean-Louis Consentino and Bobby Parks (more like family) on board.  We all went to the St. Barth's Bucket Regatta which was very mind numbing to see all the yachts over 100 feet racing.  I have pics for a later post.  I will post from when we left Guadeloupe til now so you can enjoy as we have.  Love and miss all of you and we will return to Memphis on April 3rd.

Engine repair pics before and after

Fred Marine in Guadeloupe believes in full engine service.  Here are the before and after pics.  Not only did they clean the bilges when they were through, they painted the engines.  Wonderful service and I hope you enjoy your new building.  We will recommend your services.  Merci beaucoup!!!

It is amazing the things that become amazing in one persons life and are utterly dull in anothers life.  Sorry for the ones I've bored to tears today.  But I have to say not only do the engines look marvelous, they run even better!!!

That's all I have for now.  Any technical questions about the engines will be referred to Mark.  Tomorrow sailing around to Port Louis, Guadeloupe, then on to Falmouth, Antigua.  Another sailor told us that Falmouth is like heaven. We shall see.

Jardin Botanique, Parc des Mamelles and the beach

Feeding the Lorie parrots was a blast.  They are not shy when you have food.  My favorite one is the one drinking the last drop of pulp from the machine.  He's no dummy.
The Botanique gardens were beautiful.
They are still dealing with some of the effects of the Volcanic ash from the Monserrat Volcano explosion a couple weeks ago.  The plants have a coating of volcanic dust and the waters are murky.
Koi feeding frenzie.
I just love the tree orchids.
Tired feet, no problem.
On the far side of the gardens is La Villa Du Jardin Botanique.  One of the best views on the island.  From here, on a clear day, you can see any volcanic activity on Monserrat.  The view is superb no matter how you look at it.
Playtime at the Grande Anse Beach.  The waves were big and they were strong.  Both Mark and I got slammed into the sand by the waves.  The waves even took my sunglasses.  Damn.
It was a very nice relaxing afternoon on the beach.

See ya later on the big blue watery road, Theresa & Mark
